Who are behind the GEMI Fund?

The GEMI Fund is a research fund founded in 2002 by Linde Healthcare in co-operation with Harvard Medical International in Boston, Mass. USA and the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden in order to support gas enabled medical innovations – GEMI.

Linde Healthcare is a leading provider of pharmaceutical gases worldwide. In this fast-emerging market, Linde Healthcare is positioning itself as the preferred partner in the development of proprietary therapies and diagnostic procedures, where gases, gas technology or gas competence is needed. For example, Linde Healthcare was extensively involved in the development of nitric oxide into a pharmaceutical product. This product is used for the treatment of certain term and near-term neonates with hypoxic respiratory failure.
Linde Healthcare enjoys close co-operation with hospitals and universities in Europe and the US supporting research programs in the area of pharmaceutical gases.
